Remember
One of my dearest teachers congratulated me on a performance and said: “Remember this feeling and take it with you wherever you go.”
Even though you’re not going many places these days:
Remember those performances when you were in a perfect flow state.
Remember the joy of doing what you do and the happiness it brought your audience
Remember that piece you played that made your chest feel like it would burst with happiness.
Remember that puppy you saw on the street, or that gorgeous hike you took, or that person you loved, and hold those feelings close to you, just for a minute, every day.
Feel these memories and know that they’ll be back. And if you’re up to it, share that feeling with someone, or anyone, you can think of. Don’t forget to thank everyone and anyone who is still going to work.
We’ll be back.
